I joined SFI in January of 2008 due to an advertisement that I saw about EyeEarn.  I had been seeing advertisements for SFI for years, but I never really investigated it. Given my change in circumstances, I decided to check it out to see what it was all about.  After all, it couldn't hurt if it wasn't going to cost me any money to investigate it.

I found that by becoming an affiliate with SFI, you are given the rights to market and sell all of the products that they offer.  By simply selling the products, you can earn money at no cost to you.  SFI takes care of processing the order, collecting any applicable shipping costs, and sending the product to the customer.

Each product for sale through SFI (aside from marketing materials and other non-consumer items) has several values associated with it:
  1. Retail Price - the price the customer pays for the product
  2. Commission Volume - the value that is used to determine commission paid
  3. Sales Volume Points - used for Executive Affiliate qualification

As with any direct marketing group, there are essentially two goals:
  1. Sell product(s)
  2. Recruit others to sell products
It is a combination of these two things that will result in what could become a very substantial income.  One of the nice things about SFI is the vast array of products they have available for you to sell - magazine subscriptions, web hosting services, cleaning supplies, personal hygeine products, and health and wellness products to name a few.  There is a good chance that they have something available that most people that you know use on a regular basis - things that they are already spending money on.  Why not be the person to sell those items to them rather than having them spend their money at Walmart or some other store?  Better still, show them what SFI is all about and they can start buying those items from themselves and earn a commission for themselves and for you because you showed them how!

SFI affiliates can earn different ranks based on their performance.  These are:
  • Affiliate (A)
  • Executive Affiliate (EA)
  • Team Leader -
    • Bronze Team Leader (BTL)
    • Silver Team Leader (STL)
    • Gold Team Leader (GTL)
    • Platinum Team Leader (PTL)
Most direct marketing groups require additional effort selling product as the affiliate's rank increases. With SFI, this is never the case!  The SVP required to become an EA is exactly the same as it is to become a PTL - 10 SVP.  What SFI places priority on is duplication.  They reward people for teaching others how to succeed with SFI.  Yes, it is the goal of every business to sell more product.  That is not any different here.  However, SFI would rather that 10 people each sold 2 products per month than 1 person selling 20 products per month.  Either way, 20 products are sold but the the first example has more people benefitting from those sales.

In January of 2009, SFI changed quite a few aspects of the business.  They revised the commission plan, added thousands of products from several different manufacturers - including Olympian Labs - and overhauled their storefront.  As well, they introduced a 'Private Seller' program where anyone can list their items for sale.
