myLot is an interesting site.  The premise behind myLot is that you get paid for carrying on discussions!  Essentially, myLot puts a slightly different twist on social networking.  The best way for me to describe myLot is to take the words from their site:

Our goal is to provide internet users a place to earn money using the web on a day to day basis. It's easy, sign up and start discussions, post responses or comments to current discussions, or refer friends! A myLot account is all you need to get started. You will be able to view your earnings on a daily basis when you sign in.

You can get out of myLot what you want.  If you have questions about how to do something, start a discussion about it.  If you need a new recipe, start a discussion about it.  If you see a discussion about one of your favorite books, share your thoughts.  The more often that you post, the more you can earn.  myLot earnings are based on not only the quantity of posts, but the quality.  If you simply go through the discussions and provide short, simple answers you will not earn as much as you would if you provided well written and thought out responses.

Additionally, myLot works on a referral program - you can also earn money based on the activity of the people that you introduce to myLot.  This means that you can invite your friends and carry on discussions with them and you will both earn a little extra cash.

I have not too active on myLot, but I have been able to post some earnings.  In order for myLot to replace your income, you would need to post a considerable number of posts every day and/or have a considerable number of active referrals.  I include it here because it is possible to earn a couple of extra dollars every month.  myLot pays out when you earn a minimum of $10.00.  Based solely on my activity (not counting earnings from referrals), I have earned as much as $0.38 in one day.  If I were to do that every day - which is not too hard - I could reach payout every month just based on my own efforts.  Can you use an extra $10.00 every month?
