Wow! I Am Hooked on Lumosity's Brain Games!

Brain Games

Even before I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, I had an affinity for games and puzzles that promised to improve my brain function.  I love logic problems, crossword puzzles, and Sudoku.  Like any other part of the body, brain function improves with use.

Now, given that MS is a neurological disorder - it affects the brain and the spinal cord - I feel more than ever that my brain can use all the 'exercise' it can get.  I have a theory that  by improving my neurological function, through both nutrition and exercise, I can stave off - and perhaps reverse - the symptoms.  As well, I have found that doing puzzles is a good way to pass the time when I am otherwise unable to manage any sort of physical activity.  When I was first laid up, I filled my time with a LOT of Sudoku puzzles.  So much Sudoku that if I never see another one it will be too soon!

Well, the nutritional aspect still needs a bit of work, but it has improved dramatically with the addition of VIDACELL to my program.  My downtime has been greatly reduced since I started using it.

On the exercise front, I am always on the lookout for another resource to use.  When I stumbled across the Lumosity advertisement, I thought it was worth giving the trial period a shot.  After registering, I was led through the 'basic training' portion of the program.  Basically, this consists of an array of mini-games that work on different aspects of brain function.

The trial lasts for 14 days.  After that, there are three pricing options.  You can opt for a monthly subscription at $9.95 per month, a three month subscription for $24.95 and $7.95 a month thereafter, or a one year subscription for $79.95.  I have only just begun my trial and I opted for the monthly subscription because I was not sure how long it would hold my interest.  I would rather be able to cancel after a month or two than to have to request a refund for any unused time.  Given my attraction to the program, I will likely stick with it for at least one month after the trial.  I really like the fact that there is nothing to download or install - all of the games are web-based.

So far, my favorite game is Word Bubbles.

Give this one a shot...at least for the free trial.  Scientific brain training: Lumosity Brain Fitness Program.

A Unique Advertising Tool

Linkbee.com is an interesting tool that allows you to create short URLs to direct traffic to your website(s).  For instance, instead of providing a long and hard-to-remember URL such as http://cid-0f96459e22349633.spaces.live.com/blog/ (that is the web address for this blog), I can simply provide the URL http://linkbee.com/myblog which is a whole lot easier!

An additional benefit to using LinkBee is that they pay you to do so.  When creating your LinkBee URL, you are given the option for three different types of re-directs.
  1. You can elect to have you link with an interstitial advertisement.  This pays $1.00 per 1,000 unique visits to your link.  When a visitor uses you LinkBee link, they will be directed to an advertisement prior to being sent to your page.  The advertisement displays for about 7 seconds prior to re-directing to the final destination.  Aside from the brief advertisement, your visitor will see your site as it would be seen had they gone there directly.
  2. You can elect to have your site appear under an advertising banner.  This option pays $1.00 per 2,000 unique visits to your link.  This is a little less intrusive than option 1, but still might require some discretion on your part depending on your target audience.  As you have no control over what ad appears in the banner, you may not want to use this option.
  3. The final option will display no advertisement at all but simply direct your visitor to your site.  As there is no ad revenue being generated by this method, the payout is considerably less than the first two options requiring a full 100,000 visits to your link for a $1.00 payout.  Ultimately, this option is well suited to those that do not want distracting advertisements to appear.  If you are sending traffic to your site anyway, you might as well get paid for it and use a shorter URL in the process.
I can't give you a glowing testimonial of the earnings opportunity because I only just signed up myself, but I will be sure to keep you posted.
Additionally, LinkBee lets you earn money from your referral activity.  When people sign up for LinkBee because you directed them there, you will earn money equivalent to 15% of their earnings.  Referral earnings come five levels deep with 10% on the second level and 5% on each of the third, fourth, and fifth levels.  To join LinkBee and start earning for yourself, please click HERE
